DEF Filter Maintenance

With Spring in full swing, here is a maintenance tip from us at CTS Kenworth. The pictures below show a contaminated DEF that we removed. As you can see, it’s quite dirty, and caused the check engine light to illuminate.

The DEF Filter is located in the DEF Pump Module to inspect, if you’re unsure of the DEF quality.

It’s recommended to replace the filter every 100,000 miles (160,000 km) or once a year for vocational use, and every 200,000 miles (320,000 km) for Line Haul use.
